June, 2011 - "RE is proud to announce that it has received the EN 13980:2002 standard Certification (Potentially explosive atmospheres) from Kema (Dekra - Germany), becoming our region's first manufacturing facility to earn such certification."


Rawabi Electric (RE), Rawabi Holding's power and automation arm, has celebrated its 27 years in operation. The company, formerly known as Remal Electric, has re-branded and changed its name to Rawabi Electric. In the early months of 2011, Rawabi Holding Group of Companies re-branded in a move that plays up its ties to parent company, Rawabi Holding. The new Rawabi Holding brand has been developed to help the growth and expansion of business across new sectors and regions. The Rawabi name was chosen to unify the group in an effort to better leverage synergies within its sister companies.


Recent Developments

Similar to its sister company RISS, RE completed restructuring its business systems with its international consultant. The company has started implementing a complete reengineering process throughout it various business operations. This will enable RE to provide its reputed triangle of people at employees, partners and shareholders levels, with a safe, true, unique, and quality value offering throughout their lives. RE is committed to continuously seeking its people's feedback and inspiration, considering them the real assets.


RE'S Commitment to Quality

RE is proud to announce that it has received the EN 13980:2002 Standard Certification (Potentially Explosive Atmospheres) from Kema (Dekra - Germany), becoming our region's first manufacturing facility to earn such certification.


RE's solutions for increased safety (ATEX) successfully passed the type testing at Kema (Dekra) facility in the Netherlands.


Furthermore, RE is currently in the process of completing the requirements for the OHSAS18001:2007 certification. This integrated Management System comprising RE's ISO9001:2008 (since 1994) and the other quality systems (mentioned above) clearly reflect RE's remarkable commitment to providing its esteemed partners with quality as a basic service.


In terms of recent projects, RE has:

  • Been selected by Saudi Aramco via Emerson Electric RAS (Remote Automation Systems) division, to build, stage and IFAT the SCADA and Remote Terminal Unit (RTU) systems, for its water injection wells. The project is to be completed on an expedited basis to facilitate Saudi Aramco's remote supervision and control over its scattered production wells, from its central Oil Supply Planning and Scheduling Center (OSPAS) in Dhahran. RE's demonstrated capacity and success in executing key strategic Automation Process Control Systems projects will enable the company to achieve targets within the required dates.
  • Been elected by Nesma & Partners to supply power substations for Jabal Omar Project in Makkah.
  • Been approved to proceed with the manufacturing of eight prefabricated and engineered power centers (PPC). This offers Saudi Aramco for the first time an integrated power and control solution comprising of 34.5KV, 13.8KV, 4.16 KV and 480V switchgears and motor control centers along with protection, automation and control on one platform that is ready for plug and power on site. The unique solution is aimed to save time and money by avoiding a great number of ancillary site works. Furthermore, it can be mobilized to attend to power needs anywhere as needed. Has started delivering its first batch of Control Centers, which work as satellite control rooms next to various oil, gas and water injection wells, housing various power, automation and telecommunication equipments. The Control Centers enable Saudi Aramco to boost the efficiency and capacity of energy production throughout various sites.
  • Has started delivering its first batch of Switchracks for Saudi Aramco's Maintain Potential Program (MPP). These racks host power, control and telecommunication equipment (RTU, SCADA, Metering, etc).
  • Received the approval to start the manufacturing of relay and control panels for Safaniya's offshore platforms projects.
